Sustainable agriculture is the act of farming using principles of ecology, the study of relationships between organisms and their environment; it’s an integrated system of plant production practices that lasts over the long term. It satisfies human food and fiber needs while enhancing the natural resources that the agricultural economy depends on. It makes the most efficient use of non-renewable resources and integrates natural biological cycles and controls. It sustains the economic viability of farm operations while enhancing the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole. Sustainable agriculture is the responsible future of food production!
Pure Chia is grown in a chemical free environment, with no use of pesticides or fungicides, and the use of chemical free mechanical seeding, weeding and harvesting methods. Chia can be grown commercially around the world in tropical and sub-tropical regions within 23 degrees of the equator where the photoperiod (daylight) is less than 13.5 hours. Grown closer to the equator increases seed oil content and shortens seed-to-harvest period, allowing for double and triple crops. Chia plants mature faster at lower elevations on rich, fertilized soil with good irrigation.
The term traceability refers to the recording through means of barcodes or RFID tags & other tracking media, all movement of product and steps within the production process. Pure Chia has full supply chain traceability: every seed can be traced back to the field on which it was grown. From “field to fork” or “field to table” is the simple mantra of Pure Chia, growing and delivering quality chia products to customers, retailers and consumers around the world.
Pure Chia is 100% chemical free, non-GMO, pure and simple. We oversee every step of the growth and distribution of our chia, ensuring its high quality and purity.
